1. This is my fifth pair of Rockport World
Classic shoes. They are comfortable and extremely tough.
Some of mine have been re-soled twice and the uppers are as
good as new. I originally purchased these shoes because they
were the most comfortable with the orthotics which I need to
wear to correct ankle problems. But I now wear them with and
without the orthotics. If you look after these shoes, they
last for a long time and always look good. Even after
working in the garden or in muddy, wet conditions, the shoes
alway come back well with a little TLC.
2. I was very happy with the Brown Tumbled World Classics
that I purchased from Shoebuy.com. Wanting to buy a black
pair of shoes, I ordered a Black Tumbled pair of World
Classics. The fit was the same comfortable fit, but there is
a very strong smell associated with the leather on the black
pair, so much so that I am keeping them in the garage until
the odor wears off. It must be the dye for the black leather
has stronger chemicals. The first day I wore the black pair
to work, people commented that I had new shoes. I think the
odor tipped them off. That's why they are in the garage.
3. I started wearing these shoes and my problems with my
feet went away. They are also quite durable. You can hardly
wear them out. They eventually start looking bad,
particularly from the rough environment I expose them to.
But the shoes remain intact and the soles show very little
wear, even after a few years. This is a good looking shoe
(they are meant to be a dressy casual shoe I believe) that
supports the foot and holds up to even harsh working
conditions.
4. My husband used to swear by Asics, but the store where he
made his purchases stopped stocking that brand. So for the
last 9-10 years, he has switched over to New Balance, since
most brands can't accommodate the inserts that he has to
wear. We ordered a half size larger than the New Balance
shoes he wears, and they are a perfect fit. My husband was a
very happy kid on Christmas day!
5. I've worn GT 2150 shoes for years, but due to lowered
quality and sizing changes in my usual model (Prowalker), I
tried the these a few months ago. I have wide feet and
usually have a hard time with sizing, but the they fit
great. I wore them all over, and soon wished for another
pair, in black, which I thought I might gamble on as dress
shoes in some situations. If not, they still had the
advantage of repelling water better than the Nubuck. I'm
very pleased with the Tumbled Black version. These fit
great, like the Nubuck, although not quite as soft or
pliable. These shoes are endorsed by the "American Podiatric
Medial Association Seal of Acceptance" -- whatever that is.
I use orthotics in them, and I will say that the shoes seem
quite stable and give plenty of support. All in all, I am
very happy with them! |
